How a historic fashion house reinterprets its identity for a new generation
Chanel and the Art of Reinvention
Fashion houses with a long history face a continuing challenge: how to evolve without losing the identity that makes them recognisable. Chanel’s Spring/Summer 2027 presentation in Paris offers a fresh perspective on this question.
Under the creative direction of Matthieu Blazy, familiar elements of the house’s visual language appeared in new combinations. Tweed, tailored silhouettes, transparent fabrics, and expressive patterns brought a contemporary sensibility to a heritage that continues to shape the brand’s identity.
The significance of such a collection extends beyond individual garments. For an established luxury house, each new presentation becomes a dialogue between its history and the expectations of a changing audience. Recognisable design elements provide continuity, while new materials, proportions, and styling open possibilities for reinterpretation.
This balance is particularly important in luxury, where heritage contributes to a brand’s value but cannot replace creative development. A name may carry decades of cultural significance, yet its continued relevance depends on its ability to inspire new perspectives rather than simply repeat the past.
Chanel’s latest collection therefore raises a broader question for the fashion industry: how can a lasting legacy remain meaningful to new generations without becoming confined by its own history?
For TOURÉN, this question lies at the heart of contemporary fashion. Identity is not defined solely by what a brand preserves, but also by what it chooses to transform. The strongest creative legacies are not static symbols of the past; they remain active sources of ideas, interpretation, and cultural expression.

When Performance Meets Personal Expression: GANNI and lululemon Join Forces
GANNI and lululemon Join Forces
October 2026
The boundaries between activewear and everyday fashion continue to evolve. A new collaboration between Copenhagen-based fashion house GANNI and lululemon brings this relationship into focus, combining technical sportswear with a more expressive approach to personal style.
Announced in October, the 22-piece collection draws inspiration from dance culture, particularly the energy and visual language associated with the 1980s. Performance materials meet recognisable GANNI design elements, including animal prints, playful detailing and ruffled accents. The collection also reinterprets familiar lululemon pieces through a different creative perspective.
The collaboration extends beyond clothing. Its campaign, titled Joy Is a Power Move, features actor Jennifer Beals and performer METTE, using dance as a way to explore confidence, individuality and self-expression.
The partnership reflects a broader development in contemporary fashion: consumers increasingly move between different aspects of their lives without wanting their clothing to be confined to a single purpose. Pieces designed for physical activity can also become part of an everyday wardrobe, while fashion-led details give technical garments a more individual character.
For both brands, the collaboration offers an opportunity to bring different creative identities into dialogue. It also raises a question for the wider industry: can functionality and distinctive design become equally important parts of the same fashion statement?
The collection is scheduled to launch internationally on 15 October 2026 through the brands’ online platforms and selected stores.

H&M Move Brings Layered Performance to Autumn
As temperatures begin to fall, H&M Move introduces a new autumn collection that places layering, comfort, and adaptable design at the centre of its approach to activewear.
The collection combines close-fitting performance pieces with relaxed silhouettes and protective outerwear. Soft fleece fabrics provide warmth, while technical materials are designed to offer additional protection against colder conditions. Adjustable hems, funnel necks, and versatile shapes allow the garments to adapt to different needs throughout the day.
The colour palette features muted shades, including grey, black, white, and soft purple, reinforcing the collection’s understated aesthetic. Knitted and padded accessories extend the layered approach, bringing texture and practicality to seasonal dressing.
Rather than treating sportswear solely as clothing for exercise, the collection reflects the growing intersection of performance, everyday comfort, and contemporary style. Its emphasis on flexible layering offers a wardrobe designed to move between outdoor activities and daily routines.
The H&M Move autumn collection became available online and in selected stores from 8 October 2026.
